About Providenciales, Turks and Caicos
The Turks and Caicos Islands consist of 40 islands and cays, eight of which are inhabited. The islands are located 550 miles southeast of Miami, Florida, just below the Bahamas chain and just to the east of Cuba and the Dominican Republic.
The most developed and populated island in the Turks and Caicos is Providenciales. It is home to spectacular beaches and fine dining. Nearly all international flights to the Turks and Caicos land at the Providenciales International Airport (PLS).
Several of the country’s top beaches are found here, including the critically acclaimed Grace Bay Beach, and the beautiful Bight, Sapodilla Bay and Taylor Bay beaches. Chalk Sound National Park is another unique feature of Providenciales. This lagoon paints an amazing backdrop with hundreds of tiny delicately-formed limestone islands contrasting against brilliantly turquoise water.
